Fundraising FAQs
Gift Aid is a government initiative that allows charities to claim an extra 25p for every £1 donated by UK taxpayers—at no extra cost to you! If you’re a UK taxpayer, all you need to do is tick the Gift Aid box when making your donation, and we can claim this additional amount from HMRC. It’s an easy way to make your donation go even further in supporting Team Ted.
The sky’s the limit when it comes to fundraising ideas! You can take part in a traditional sponsored event like a run, walk, or swim, or get creative with something a bit different. How about organising a bake-off, hosting a quiz night, or even staging a community talent show? You could hold a virtual event like a gaming marathon or a yoga class. Whether it’s a solo challenge or a group effort, the most important thing is to have fun and rally support for Team Ted.
Starting a fundraising event is easy with Good Hub! Simply visit the platform, create your event, and share it with friends, family, and colleagues. Good Hub will guide you through the process, helping you set up your page, track your progress, and promote your event. Plus, when you use Good Hub, Team Ted can claim Gift Aid on eligible donations, maximising the impact of your efforts.

Promoting your fundraiser is key to its success! Start by sharing your event on social media, sending emails to friends and family, and creating posters or flyers if it’s a local event. You can also reach out to local businesses or media outlets for additional support. And don’t forget, we’ll help spread the word by sharing your event on the Team Ted Foundation’s social media channels to help you reach an even wider audience. Keeping your supporters updated with progress and thanking them for their contributions helps build momentum and keeps everyone engaged.
We’re here to support you every step of the way! Whether you need advice on setting up your event, promotional materials, or just some encouragement, we’re available to help. Just reach out to us with your questions or ideas, and we’ll do our best to assist you.
Volunteer
We’re always grateful for the support of our brilliant volunteers. Most of our events take place across South Yorkshire but there are plenty of other ways to get involved too. Email us at info@teamtedfoundation.org.uk and let us know how you’d like to help.
Our events
We run our own charity events throughout the year and love shouting about the brilliant fundraising events our supporters are organising too. The best place to keep up to date with everything going on is our social media, so give us a follow and never miss a thing.
Marathon places
We occasionally have charity marathon places available, including the TCS London Marathon. Drop us an email at info@teamtedfoundation.org.uk to find out what we’ve got coming up.
